LOWER ELEMENTARY

Starting at High School (Grades 9-12) High School is a very important time in any student’s academic journey, and at Horizon Private School – Branch we give our students every opportunity to take charge of their learning. While student outcomes remain a key focus, we understand the importance of grooming successful young adults who are lifelong learners and are ready to become the leaders of the future.
CURRICULUM
At home with the traditions and culture of the UAE and embracing the best of current educational practices within the American Curriculum (Common Core State Standards), HPS-Br. carries the interests of each child at the heart of everything it does.
LANGUAGES
The English Language Arts curriculum at HPS-Br. is structured around the build-up approach. By learning the initial or most simple parts of a skill, the student can experience success and quickly move onto more advanced aspects. This means that he/she enjoys a smooth transition between the previously acquired and the newly introduced knowledge. The curriculum encompasses all the main language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This is carried out in classrooms where teachers utilize different methods to provide the students with the many opportunities available to use the language in a meaningful and authentic approach. The curriculum covers a vast range of concepts and cultural aspects and encourages the students to collaborate with each other on various projects.
BLENDED LEARNING &
TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION
Horizon Private School - Branch is successfully implementing a Blended Learning Model that mixes paper-based instruction, hands-on activities, self-paced digital learning, ebooks, and the latest apps and educational trends.
AP COURSES
What is AP? The Advanced Placement (AP) program gives students the opportunity to tackle college-level work while still in High School. This allows them to be better prepared for college and, in some cases, earn college credits once they pass the AP exam. Run by the College Board, AP courses give students the academic skills they need in college while providing more time to concentrate on the subjects that interest them.
